Tata Steel Share Price in Focus; Infuses $340 Million into T Steel Holdings

Tata Steel has put another $340 million into T Steel Holdings Pte. Ltd. (TSHP), its wholly owned foreign subsidiary. The investment was completed on September 29, 2026, through the acquisition of 393,51,85,186 equity shares.
The latest infusion is part of the additional funding plan approved by Tata Steel's Board earlier this year. After the transaction, TSHP will continue to remain a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel.
$340 Million Investment in TSHP
Tata Steel acquired the shares at a face value of $0.0864 each, with the total investment amounting to $340 million. Based on the exchange rate used in the company's filing, the investment is equivalent to ₹3,260.32 crore.
The rupee value has been calculated using an exchange rate of ₹95.8918 per dollar, published by the Reserve Bank of India on September 25, 2026.
Funding Plan Approved in March
Tata Steel's Board had approved an additional fund infusion of up to $2 billion at its March 17, 2026, meeting. The money was planned to be invested in TSHP through subscriptions to equity shares in one or more tranches.
With that approval, the aggregate investment limit in the subsidiary was increased to $26.21 billion.
Latest Infusion Adds to Earlier Disclosures
The September 29, 2026, transaction follows Tata Steel's earlier disclosures on the investment, with the previous update dated August 27, 2026.
The latest share subscription brings another $340 million into TSHP under the broader funding arrangement approved by the Board.
TSHP Remains Wholly Owned Subsidiary
Despite the new share issuance, Tata Steel will continue to hold TSHP as a wholly owned foreign subsidiary.
The company has therefore used the approved equity subscription route for the latest fund infusion while retaining its existing ownership structure.
