Tata Steel Share Price in Focus; India Q2FY27 Production Rises 10% YoY to 6.21 MT

Tata Steel’s India crude steel output rose 10% year-on-year (YoY) to 6.21 million tonnes (MT) in Q2FY27, against 5.64 MT in the year-ago quarter, as per an exchange filing dated October 7, 2026.
Output was also 8% higher than the 5.76 MT produced in Q1FY27, with Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar accounting for the increase. For the first half of FY27, India production reached 11.97 MT, compared with 10.87 MT in H1FY26.
The company’s India figures include Tata Steel Standalone and Neelachal Ispat Nigam on a pro forma basis.
Deliveries Rise 15% QoQ
India deliveries came in at 5.97 MT during the quarter, up 15% from 5.17 MT in Q1FY27 and 7% from 5.55 MT a year earlier. The company said deliveries were supported by the product mix and steady demand across market segments despite the seasonal rains.
On a six-month basis, deliveries were 11.14 MT, an 8% YoY increase from 10.30 MT in 1HFY26.
Automotive and Retail Volumes
The Automotive & Special Products vertical crossed 1.1 MT in the quarter, its highest Q2 volume, with growth of 19% YoY and 9% QoQ. The increase came as the Continuous Annealing and Galvanising lines at Kalinganagar and the Combi mill at Jamshedpur ramped up.
Branded Products & Retail volumes were around 2.2 MT, the highest for a quarter. Tata Tiscon also reached its highest quarterly volume, rising 7% QoQ, while Tata Kosh grew 25% QoQ.
Other Domestic Businesses
Construction & Solutions volumes were around 0.6 MT, while ready-to-use solutions increased 32% YoY. Engineering and Packaging volumes reached about 0.4 MT, 12% higher QoQ, helped by increased Oil & Gas sales.
Downstream sales across cold-rolled steel, galvanised products, tubes, tinplate, wires and colours continued to increase. Colors volumes rose 34% QoQ, while gross merchandise value from Tata Steel Aashiyana and DigECA reached ₹2,860 crore, up 30% QoQ.
Overseas Operations
In the Netherlands, production was 1.52 MT and deliveries were 1.30 MT. Thailand produced 0.32 MT and delivered 0.31 MT, with September’s heavy rains affecting deliveries.

As of October 8, 2026, 11:18 am, Tata Steel share price was trading at ₹173.93, a 0.97% decrease from the previous closing price.
Conclusion
