Tata Motors has expanded its network of vehicle scrapping facilities with the inauguration of a new centre in Patna, Bihar, as per news report.

The facility, named Re.Wi.Re (Recycle With Respect), can dismantle up to 15,000 end-of-life vehicles annually.

This development brings Tata Motors' total number of registered vehicle scrapping facilities across India to 12.

Facility Inauguration and Features

The facility in Patna was launched by Bihar Transport Minister Damodar Rawat. Spread over 5.5 acres, it is operated by the Kalahanu Bothra Group.

The site is equipped to dismantle end-of-life vehicles of all brands and segments, including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers.

The facility aligns with the National Vehicle Scrappage Policy, aiming to remove old and unfit vehicles responsibly while encouraging the use of newer, more efficient vehicles.

Re.Wi.Re Expansion and Capacity

The Re.Wi.Re facility in Patna uses a fully digital and paperless process and employs cell-type dismantling for commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers, while passenger vehicles undergo line-type dismantling.

Specialised stations at the facility safely process components such as tyres, batteries, fuel, oils, liquids, and gases. Additionally, every vehicle is documented before dismantling to comply with policy requirements.
