Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) is preparing to launch a range of foods and beverages for consumers using GLP-1 weight-loss medicines, as per The Economic Times news report. The company is introducing the products over the next 60 days.
Managing Director Sunil D'Souza said the products are being developed to supplement nutrients that consumers may consume in lower quantities while using these medicines. The company said it is not considering smaller portion sizes.
Instead, the focus is on products that add protein, fibre, prebiotics, and probiotics to regular diets. Protein- and fibre-enriched water and snack products are among the categories being evaluated.
The growing use of weight-loss medicines is leading food manufacturers to review their product portfolios. Some companies have introduced smaller pack sizes, while others are developing products aimed at nutritional supplementation.
TCPL's approach is centred on products that consumers can add to their existing diets rather than replacing conventional food items.
The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹427 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, compared with ₹331 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations increased 12% year-on-year to ₹5,349 crore.
According to the company, growth was supported by its domestic business, premium products and acquisitions. Its portfolio includes Tata Tea, Tata Salt, Eight O'Clock Coffee, Soulfull cereals and Ching's Secret.
The company also said category innovation, changes in its distribution network and continued brand investments contributed to business growth during the quarter.
TCPL noted that the inflation in fuel, freight, packaging, and processing remains a challenge. It added that commodity prices continue to be affected by geopolitical developments and movements in crude oil.
The company expects to take calibrated price increases where required while balancing competitiveness across product categories.
