Suzlon Energy has secured a 105 MW wind energy order from Sunsure Energy for its newly launched S175 (5.0 MW) wind turbine generators (WTGs).
The order marks the commercial debut of Suzlon's next-generation S175 turbine, which was launched just two weeks ago. It also represents the third order from Sunsure Energy in less than 14 months, taking the cumulative partnership between the two companies to 400.8 MW.
Under the order, Suzlon will supply, erect, commission and maintain 21 S175 (5.0 MW) wind turbine generators.
The project will be executed in the Bijapur district of Karnataka.
The S175 is Suzlon's latest wind turbine platform, featuring a 175-metre rotor and a 160-metre hybrid lattice tower.
According to the company, the turbine is designed to access stronger and more stable wind regimes, enabling higher energy yields while improving project economics by making previously unviable sites commercially attractive.
The latest order increases Suzlon's cumulative order book with Sunsure Energy to 400.8 MW.
Sunsure Energy said the S175 turbine aligns with its strategy of delivering firm and dispatchable renewable power and supports its target of achieving 10 GW operational capacity by 2030.
