Sterlite Technologies Share Price Hits 5% Upper Circuit as Subsidiary Announces Supply Agreement Valued Over $1 Billion

Sterlite Technologies Ltd (STL) announced a subsidiary has received a multi-year Product Award Letter (PAL) from an international hyperscale company for the supply of optical connectivity products, as per a regulatory filing dated May 22, 2026. 

The total potential value of the agreement is estimated at around $1.11 billion, based on prevailing selling prices.  

STL said the agreement relates to optical connectivity products that will be supplied over multiple years.  

Contract To Continue till March 2029 

As per the filing, product allocations under the agreement will be scheduled across FY27 to FY29. Purchase orders are expected to be released periodically during the tenure of the contract.  

The agreement also includes a risk-sharing mechanism covering demand shortfalls and supply capacity constraints. STL said the framework defines capped financial liabilities for both parties in such cases.  

The company stated that the contract has been awarded by an international entity. It also clarified that the agreement does not fall under related party transactions, and that promoters or group companies do not have any interest in the awarding entity.  

Focus On Optical Connectivity Products 

In a separate press release, STL said the products supplied under the agreement will support AI data centre projects in the United States.  

STL recently introduced its Neuralis AI Data Center portfolio, which includes high-density fibre cable systems and data centre interconnect products. The company said some of these cables support up to 6,912 fibres for large-scale network requirements.

As of May 25, 2026, 10:31 am, Sterlite Technologies share price was trading at ₹463.20, up 5.00% from the previous closing price. 

Conclusion 

The agreement will remain in force until March 2029 and is expected to contribute to STL’s supply business linked to data centre connectivity infrastructure.
