Sigma Advanced Systems Share Price Hits 5% Upper Circuit on ₹973 Crore Order from NATO Customer

Sigma Advanced Systems Limited has received an order worth $102.23 million, or approximately ₹973 crore, from a NATO customer for the manufacture and supply of Base Bleed Units used in 155mm artillery ammunition.
The company announced the order on October 26, 2026, in a filing to the stock exchanges. The contract is scheduled for execution over 12 months.
What the Order Covers?
The contract covers Base Bleed Units, which are fitted into the rear section of artillery projectiles. These components release gas during flight to reduce aerodynamic drag behind the projectile, helping increase its effective range.
The technology is used in modern 155mm artillery ammunition.
Existing Defence Business
Sigma Advanced Systems already manufactures 155mm artillery shells and fuzes. With Base Bleed Units added to its product range, the company is expanding the number of components it can supply for artillery ammunition.
The company said the development forms part of its plan to manufacture more components in-house. This approach is intended to reduce dependence on outside suppliers and give it greater control over the supply chain.
Manufacturing Operations
The order also relates to the company’s focus on domestic defence manufacturing under the Government of India’s Make in India initiative. Sigma Advanced Systems is working to expand its manufacturing activities across the 155mm artillery ammunition value chain.
The company has not disclosed further details about the customer or the order’s payment terms in the announcement. Execution is expected to take place over the stated 12-month period.
