Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has received a significant new work order from Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) for the supply of 4,840 Stand-alone Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems across the state of Madhya Pradesh.
The order has been awarded under Component-B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme, which aims to promote the use of solar energy in agriculture and improve farmers’ access to reliable irrigation solutions.
The order has been awarded by a domestic entity and reinforces Shakti Pumps’ strong position in the renewable energy and solar pumping solutions space, particularly within government-led agricultural initiatives.
Under the terms of the contract, Shakti Pumps will be responsible for the complete execution of the project. This includes the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the stand-alone off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems.
The pumps will be deployed across various locations in Madhya Pradesh to support irrigation needs in areas with limited or no access to conventional power supply.
The company is required to complete the execution of the order within a period of 120 days from the date of award, highlighting a relatively tight implementation timeline. Successful execution within this timeframe will be crucial in ensuring timely benefits to farmers under the PM-KUSUM scheme.
This order strengthens Shakti Pumps’ order book and provides visibility for near-term execution. Participation in large-scale government programmes such as PM-KUSUM also enhances the company’s credentials in executing complex, multi-location renewable energy projects.
Solar water pumping systems play a key role in reducing dependence on diesel pumps, lowering input costs for farmers, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
While the total commercial value of the work order has not been disclosed, the scale of 4,840 pumps indicates a sizable project that could contribute meaningfully to the company’s revenues over the execution period.
On December 31, 2025, Shakti Pumps share price opened at ₹704.25, touching the day’s high at ₹736.70, as of 12:03 PM on the NSE.
