State Bank of India (SBI) will sign a €150 million credit line with KfW, the German development bank, for financing climate-friendly energy generation projects. The agreement is scheduled to be signed on December 16, 2025, at KfW’s headquarters in Frankfurt, as per exchange filing.
The facility has been structured as a €150 million line of credit and is classified as Phase 2 of the financing arrangement between SBI and KfW.
The funds will be used specifically for energy generation projects that meet climate-friendly criteria. SBI will act as the lending intermediary for projects funded under this arrangement.
The credit line is meant to support energy generation projects aligned with climate-related objectives. While SBI has not provided a breakdown of project types, such facilities are generally used for renewable power and lower-emission energy projects.
The funds are expected to be deployed over a period based on project approvals and disbursement schedules.
KfW is Germany’s government-owned development bank and is active in providing long-term funding for infrastructure and sustainability-linked projects across multiple countries. In India, KfW has worked with financial institutions to channel funds into sectors such as energy, transport, and climate-related infrastructure.
