State Bank of India (SBI) will sign a €150 million credit line with KfW, the German development bank, for financing climate-friendly energy generation projects. The agreement is scheduled to be signed on December 16, 2025, at KfW’s headquarters in Frankfurt, as per exchange filing. 

Size and Nature of the Facility 

The facility has been structured as a €150 million line of credit and is classified as Phase 2 of the financing arrangement between SBI and KfW.  

The funds will be used specifically for energy generation projects that meet climate-friendly criteria. SBI will act as the lending intermediary for projects funded under this arrangement. 

Intended Use of Funds 

The credit line is meant to support energy generation projects aligned with climate-related objectives. While SBI has not provided a breakdown of project types, such facilities are generally used for renewable power and lower-emission energy projects.  

The funds are expected to be deployed over a period based on project approvals and disbursement schedules. 

About the KfW 

KfW is Germany’s government-owned development bank and is active in providing long-term funding for infrastructure and sustainability-linked projects across multiple countries. In India, KfW has worked with financial institutions to channel funds into sectors such as energy, transport, and climate-related infrastructure. 

SBI Share Price Performance  

As of December 16, 2025, 10:27 am, State Bank of India (SBI) share price was trading at ₹963.70, a 0.37% down from its previous close.
