The popularity of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has made online streaming one of the most sought-after services in India. With the growth of digital viewing, Reliance Industries has strengthened its presence in the sports streaming market through JioHotstar. Many users are now asking whether they can watch IPL matches for free on the platform.
While the service may not be entirely free for all users, Reliance has introduced bundled plans that allow Jio customers to access IPL matches through specific mobile recharge packages and data packs.
Reliance’s telecom arm, Reliance Jio, offers several mobile plans that include JioHotstar access as part of the package. For example, the True 5G ₹949 plan provides a validity of 84 days and offers 2 GB of data per day along with access to JioHotstar and other OTT platforms.
In addition to the regular recharge plan, Jio also provides dedicated JioHotstar data packs for users who want additional streaming data. The ₹100 data pack offers 5 GB of data with a validity of 30 days. Meanwhile, the ₹195 data pack provides 15 GB of data with a validity of 90 days, making it suitable for extended streaming needs.
These packs allow users to watch IPL matches on JioHotstar without needing a separate subscription in some cases, depending on the bundled benefits of their plan.
The availability of IPL streaming through bundled mobile plans highlights Reliance’s broader strategy to strengthen its digital ecosystem. By combining telecom services, OTT streaming, and sports broadcasting, the company aims to increase user engagement and data consumption.
Cricket remains one of the drivers of mobile internet usage in India, and offering IPL streaming through Jio plans helps Reliance attract and retain subscribers. This approach also supports the company’s long-term vision of integrating content and connectivity.
On March 30, 2026, Reliance share price opened at ₹1,335.00. At 12:00 PM, the share price of Reliance was trading at ₹1,340.80, down by 0.54% on the NSE.
