
Reliance Industries Ltd’s (RIL) telecom arm, Jio Platforms Ltd, added nearly 9 million subscribers in the December quarter, taking its total user base to 515.3 million. Robust data usage and a steady shift to premium plans helped lift average revenue per user (ARPU) to ₹213.7, marking a 5.1% year-on-year increase. These figures highlight Jio’s continued success in monetising India’s largest digital network.
Jio’s 5G subscriber base surpassed 250 million, now contributing to more than half of wireless data traffic, while the fixed broadband network expanded to 25.3 million connections, according to the company’s filing.
Meanwhile, JioAirFiber became the first fixed wireless access (FWA) service globally to cross 10 million subscribers, ending the quarter at 11.5 million users. Overall data traffic surged 34% year-on-year to over 62 exabytes, with average per-user usage reaching 40.7 GB per month.

JioAICloud also strengthened its presence, reaching around 50 million registered users by December 2025, with targeted campaigns focusing on students and youth. New updates included Gujarati and Marathi voice search and AI-driven auto-organisation of files, enhancing user experience.
