Reliance Industries, Rolls-Royce Partner on Indigenous Engine for India’s AMCA Fighter Jet

Reliance Industries and Rolls-Royce have announced plans to work together on an indigenous combat engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme, as per an exchange filings.
Their partnership is to cover the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of the engine for aircraft programme.
Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex
Reliance and Rolls-Royce will explore setting up an Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India. Facility will focus on power and propulsion technology.
The companies noted that the facility could cover design, development, manufacturing, testing, production, and through-life support for the engine. They said wider work in defence, civil aerospace and other power and propulsion systems could be explored.
Roles of the Two Companies
The arrangement combines Rolls-Royce’s engine and engineering capacity with Reliance’s manufacturing and technology capabilities in India.
Reliance Executive Director Anant Ambani said the companies intend to build an aero-engine ecosystem in India. Rolls-Royce CEO Tufan Erginbilgiç said it would bring its engineering and engine experience together with Reliance’s presence in Indian industry.

Reliance Industries reported consolidated revenue of ₹11,75,919 crore for the year ended March 31, 2026. Cash profit stood at ₹1,71,258 crore, while net profit was ₹95,754 crore.
The company’s businesses include hydrocarbon exploration and production, refining and marketing, petrochemicals, materials and composites, renewables, retail, digital services, and media and entertainment.
Rolls-Royce Numbers
Rolls-Royce reported underlying revenue of £20.1 billion and underlying operating profit of £3.46 billion in 2025. It has a presence in 47 countries and customers in more than 100 countries.
