Ramco Cements share price gained strong momentum on January 5, rising nearly 4% during intraday trade. The stock touched a high of around ₹1,095 on the NSE after a key regulatory approval was announced. Later, some gains were trimmed, but the stock continued to trade firmly.

By late morning, Ramco Cements shares were trading over 3% higher compared to the previous close, even as the broader market remained largely flat.

Reason Behind the Ramco Cements Share Price Rise

The rally in Ramco Cements’ share price came after the company received approval from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The approval allows the company to include quartzite mineral in its existing limestone mining lease.

This mining lease is located in Kalavataka and Kotapadu villages in the Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh.

How the Quartzite Will Be Used

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the quartzite extracted from the mine will be used mainly for:

  • Manufactured sand
  • Pozzolanic additives used in cement
  • Other industrial uses in the future

The exact quantity of quartzite reserves has not been determined yet.

Validity of the Approval

The approval granted by the Andhra Pradesh government will remain valid until March 10, 2053, subject to compliance with mining laws and guidelines issued by both the central and state governments.
