Aerolloy Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited, has announced the successful installation and completion of hot and cold trials of its 4500/5100 tonne Intelligent Open Die Forging System.

The system has been installed at the Strategic Materials Technology Complex located in the Lucknow node of the UP Defence Industrial Corridor.

Advanced Forging System for High-Performance Materials

The newly installed forging system is designed to handle high-performance materials such as titanium and superalloys. These materials are widely used in critical applications including next-generation aeroengines, advanced defence platforms, space propulsion systems, and industrial gas turbines.

The system has been engineered to deliver high precision, scalability, and intelligent process control, enabling the production of complex and high-quality components.

Strengthening India’s Aerospace Supply Chain

The installation marks a major expansion of Aerolloy’s manufacturing ecosystem and represents a significant step forward for India’s indigenous aerospace manufacturing capabilities. Open die forging of titanium and superalloys at such a large scale requires specialised expertise in process control, metallurgy, and material science. Only a limited number of companies globally possess such integrated capabilities.

Integrated Material-to-Component Manufacturing

This development also completes a rare integrated manufacturing setup that combines melting, casting, and forging under one roof. The company recently installed and successfully tested a Vacuum Induction Melting furnace for superalloy castings and a Vacuum Arc Remelting 400 furnace for large titanium castings.

With these capabilities, Aerolloy Technologies Limited and PTC Industries Limited now offer a comprehensive aerospace material-to-component supply chain.

Conclusion

The installation of the intelligent forging system highlights the growing technological capabilities of India’s aerospace and defence manufacturing sector. By expanding advanced material processing and integrated manufacturing capabilities, companies like Aerolloy and PTC Industries are contributing to the development of a robust domestic supply chain for critical aerospace components.
