PFC Transfers Fatehgarh II Transmission to Power Grid for ₹19.11 Crore

Power finance corporation has transferred Fatehgarh II Transmission Limited to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, which was the successful bidder for the company. The transfer was completed on August 28, 2026.  

Deal Worth ₹19.11 Crore 

As part of the transaction, PFC received around ₹19.11 crore, under the Share Purchase Agreement.  

The subsidiary's contribution to PFC's turnover, revenue and net worth during the last financial year was described as negligible.  

Power Grid Is the Buyer 

Power Grid Corporation of India was the successful bidder for Fatehgarh II Transmission. 

PFC said that Power Grid does not belong to its promoter or promoter group. The transaction also does not fall under related-party transactions.  

What Happens to the Project? 

Fatehgarh II Transmission was created specifically for the development of two synchronous condenser units at the Fatehgarh-II power station. 

The sale and transfer of the special purpose vehicle (SPV) has now been completed. PFC also said that the consideration for the transfer was decided according to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.  

Not a Slump Sale 

PFC clarified that the transaction is not a slump sale. 

The company has disclosed the transaction to the stock exchanges as part of its regulatory requirements.

PFC Share Price Performance 

As of August 28, 2026, PFC share price closed at ₹352.00 per share, reflecting a decline of 1.08% from the previous trading session. 

Conclusion 

PFC has completed the transfer of Fatehgarh II Transmission to Power Grid for around ₹19.11 crore. The subsidiary had a negligible contribution to PFC's financials, and the transaction was completed after Power Grid emerged as the successful bidder.
