Ola Electric Shares in Focus; Secures Full 5-Year Incentive Window Through CY2031, Unlocking Up to ₹7,240 Crore

Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. has announced that the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has approved revised timelines under the Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for its wholly owned subsidiary, Ola Cell Technologies Private Limited, as per the exchange filings.
The revised timelines provide the company with a full 5-year incentive window through calendar year 2031.
Up to ₹7,240 Crore in PLI Incentives
Under the revised timeline, Ola Electric's 20 GWh allocation is eligible for up to ₹7,240 crore in cumulative PLI incentives.
The incentives are scheduled to be disbursed quarterly over the next five years, beginning next quarter, as the company scales its cell manufacturing operations.
6 GWh Capacity Milestone Ahead of Revised Timeline
Ola Electric currently has 2.5 GWh of installed cell-manufacturing capacity, with another 3.5 GWh under installation. The company expects to reach 6 GWh by the end of the current quarter, ahead of the revised December 2026 milestone.
The revised decision effectively extends the original timelines by two years, giving Ola Electric additional time to scale its battery cell manufacturing capacity and access the PLI incentives.
Focus on Domestic Battery Manufacturing
Ola Electric is developing a multi-chemistry cell platform covering NMC and LFP technologies. Its approach includes indigenous research and development, greater localisation of battery materials, manufacturing yield improvements and closed-loop material recovery.
PLI Incentives to Support Cell Business
The company said the revised timeline changes the economics of its cell business by providing access to a five-year quarterly incentive opportunity.
Ola Electric's management also stated that incentives had not been factored into its business projections after the company exceeded the original timelines, indicating that the revised framework could provide additional financial support as cell production scales.

The company is also progressing towards its 6 GWh capacity milestone and expanding its broader energy technology roadmap.
