Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. has announced a strategic overhaul of its go-to-market model by opening its sales and service network to dealer partners across India, as per the exchange filings.

The company said the move marks a significant evolution in its retail strategy as the electric vehicle (EV) market matures, with dealer partners expected to drive local sales, service and expansion while company-owned stores increasingly focus on customer experience and brand engagement.

Company Shifts to Dealer-Led Expansion

According to Ola Electric, the company initially relied on company-owned stores to build consumer awareness and establish trust in electric vehicles.

Having built an installed base of more than one million EV customers, the company is now transitioning towards a dealer-led model to expand its reach across towns and cities nationwide.

The company added that dealer partners will become the primary channel for local sales and after-sales service, while company-owned outlets will focus on showcasing products and strengthening the brand experience.

Nationwide Rollout Planned by Diwali 2026

Ola Electric said it has received encouraging responses from dealer partners during its nationwide engagement programme and expects the initiative to achieve meaningful on-ground scale by Diwali 2026.

The company believes local dealer expertise, combined with its product portfolio and brand presence, will help accelerate EV adoption across India.

Dealers to Offer Full Product Portfolio

The company said dealer partners will gain access to its full EV portfolio, including electric scooters, motorcycles and energy products such as Ola Shakti, along with future product launches.

Dealers will also benefit from servicing India's 1 million-plus installed customer base, creating recurring service opportunities alongside vehicle sales.

BVR Subbu Rejoins as Senior Advisor

As part of the transition, BVR Subbu, former President of Hyundai Motor India, has rejoined Ola Electric as Senior Advisor.

The company said he will support the execution of the dealer-led expansion strategy, having previously served on Ola Electric's board and mentored Chairman and Managing Director Bhavish Aggarwal.

Conclusion

Ola Electric's transition to a dealer-led sales and service network represents a significant change in its retail strategy as it looks to expand beyond company-owned outlets. With a nationwide rollout targeted by Diwali 2026, the company aims to strengthen its market reach while leveraging local dealer expertise to support the next phase of EV adoption in India.
