Ola Electric Mobility Limited has begun deliveries of its residential battery energy storage system, Ola Shakti, starting with the 6kW/9.1kWh configuration, as per a recent exchange filing.
The first deliveries commenced in Bengaluru on February 1. The company said deliveries will be expanded to other cities in a phased manner over the coming months.
The company also said it has received Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for the 3kW/5.2kWh configuration of Ola Shakti.
The 6kW/9.1kWh variant had earlier received BIS approval on January 15, 2026. With approvals now in place for both configurations, Ola Electric is authorised to manufacture and sell the systems across India.
The 5.2kWh variant underwent mandatory testing under IS 16242 (Part 1): 2025 / IEC 62040-1: 2017 standards.
These tests covered protection against short circuits and overloads, electric shock risks, fire and thermal hazards, and environmental exposure. The certification process also included checks on ingress protection, wiring and connection safety.
Ola Shakti is designed as a stationary backup power system for residential, agricultural and small commercial use.
The system offers a 0 millisecond changeover time and operates within an input voltage range of 170V to 270V. The battery units are spill-proof and carry an IP67 rating for resistance to dust and water exposure.
At full load, the system provides backup power for up to 1.5 hours. It can support appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, induction cookers, farm pumps and communication equipment. The system is positioned as an alternative to conventional lead-acid inverter setups and diesel generators.
The 3kW/5.2kWh Ola Shakti system is priced at ₹1,49,999, while the 6kW/9.1kWh configuration is priced at ₹2,49,999. Both versions are available for purchase through the company’s website and its retail outlets across India.
