
NHPC Limited has brought its Teesta-V Power Station in Sikkim back to full commercial operation after restoring generation from the plant's remaining 170 MW unit, as per the exchange filings.
With the restart of Unit 3, all three generating units at the hydropower station are now operational, enabling the project to resume commercial generation at its full installed capacity.
The last generating unit, Unit 3 (170 MW), resumed commercial generation on 16 July 2026.
The company said the unit returned to service after being synchronised with the power grid, completing the restoration of operations at the Teesta-V Power Station.
The Teesta-V Power Station comprises of three generating units of 170 MW each.
Following the restart of the final unit, the entire hydropower station has resumed commercial generation, bringing all its installed capacity back into operation.
NHPC Limited is India's largest hydropower development company and is engaged in the development, construction and operation of hydroelectric projects across the country. The company has also expanded its presence into solar, wind and other renewable energy segments.
As a central public sector enterprise, NHPC continues to develop and operate power generation assets while strengthening its renewable energy portfolio through projects across multiple states.

As of 16 July 2026, at 1:42 PM, NHPC Limited share price was trading at ₹79.01 per share, reflecting a decline of 0.08% from the previous trading session.
The resumption of commercial generation from the final 170 MW unit has restored full operations at NHPC's 510 MW Teesta-V Power Station in Sikkim, with all three generating units now back in commercial service.
