Antara Assisted Care Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Max India Ltd, has introduced robotic-assisted rehabilitation at its Care Home in Bannerghatta, Bengaluru, as per a filing dated July 17, 2026.
The equipment will be used for patients recovering from stroke, paralysis, neurological disorders and orthopaedic conditions. With the addition, the Bengaluru centre joins a small group of transition care facilities in India offering robotic-assisted rehabilitation.
Antara is the senior care business of Max India Ltd and operates through assisted care services and senior living communities. The Care Homes business currently runs eight facilities with 485 beds across Gurugram, Noida, Bengaluru and Chennai.
These centres provide short-term rehabilitation after hospitalisation as well as long-term nursing and medical care for elderly patients requiring continuous support.
The company said rehabilitation services are expected to see higher demand as India's elderly population grows. It estimates the country will have 347 million senior citizens by 2050.
Stroke remains a leading cause of long-term mobility loss, while neurological disorders, fractures and prolonged hospital stays continue to drive demand for rehabilitation and assisted care services.
The robotic systems will be used alongside physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and swallow therapy, and cognitive rehabilitation already available at the Bengaluru facility.
According to the company, treatment plans are prepared after clinical assessment and are supervised by specialists in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
Launched in 2013, Antara operates senior living, assisted care, home healthcare, wellness clinics and AGEasy, its senior healthcare products business.
The company has an operational senior living community in Dehradun and is developing projects in Noida and Gurugram as part of its expansion plans.
As of July 17, 2026, 12:54 pm, Max India Ltd share price was trading at ₹164.01, down 1.57% from the previous closing price.
The Bengaluru facility now includes robotic-assisted rehabilitation as part of its recovery services, adding to Antara's existing assisted care and transition care offerings.
