
During March 2026, India’s automobile sector continued its growth trajectory, with gains observed in passenger vehicles, tractors, and commercial vehicles.
In the four-wheeler segment, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Ltd recorded sales of 66,971 units, registering a strong 29% year-on-year growth, while Mahindra & Mahindra reported a modest increase of 2.87% to 99,969 units, indicating stable demand conditions.
The commercial vehicles segment also showed steady expansion. Tata Motors Ltd reported an 18% rise in trucks and buses sales, while Eicher Motors Ltd posted a 13.6% increase. Ashok Leyland Ltd and Escorts Kubota Ltd recorded growth of 5% and 6.6%, respectively, reflecting consistent demand in the segment.
