LTM Unveils AI 1000 Initiative to Develop Over 1,000 AI-Certified Forward Deployed Engineers

As per PTI news report, LTM has introduced AI 1000, a workforce transformation programme that is to create a pool of more than 1,000 AI-certified engineers, including Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs).  

The initiative will be managed through a dedicated Centre of Excellence (CoE) and is focused on preparing engineers for AI-related enterprise projects. 

4-Stage Training Framework 

The programme has been designed around 4 stages, Identify, Enable, Deploy and Govern. Engineers will first be selected through the company's AI Readiness Index and then undergo training in AI technologies and practical applications.  

The process also includes hackathons and project-based assessments before participants are assigned to AI programmes across business functions. 

Focus on Emerging AI Roles 

According to the company, the demand for Forward Deployed Engineers has increased as businesses expand the use of artificial intelligence.  

These professionals are to combine knowledge of large language models (LLMs), domain-specific small language models (SLMs) and business processes to support AI implementation and adoption within organisations. 

Existing AI Training Base 

LTM has already completed more than 6.5 million learning hours, achieved 84% learning penetration, secured over 15,000 external AI certifications, and trained more than 24,000 associates in AI-related skills.  

The AI 1000 initiative brings these training efforts under a single framework with defined role pathways and deployment processes.

As of June 12, 2026, 2:42 pm, LTM Ltd share price was trading at ₹3,839.00, up 0.37% from the previous closing price. 

Conclusion 

The programme is to create a larger pool of engineers with AI-related skills for enterprise deployments. LTM has said that the initiative will be evaluated based on the outcomes delivered through AI projects rather than the number of employees who complete the training programme.
