Lloyds Metals Share Price in Focus; Approves ₹1,550 Crore NCDs, ₹190 Crore DRI Expansion in Maharashtra

Lloyds Metals and Energy has cleared two separate NCD issuances worth up to ₹600 crore and ₹950 crore. The company has also approved ₹190 crore for increasing DRI capacity at its Ghugus and Konsari plants in Maharashtra.   

The DRI expansion will add 2,07,400 MTPA across the 2 plants. Once the work is completed, the company's total DRI capacity will move above 9 lakh MTPA.  

₹1,550 Crore NCD Plan Gets Board Approval 

The two NCDs will be issued on a private placement basis. The proposed amounts are ₹600 crore and ₹950 crore, taking the total to ₹1,550 crore.  

The Board said the issuance falls within the overall limits already approved earlier. 

Ghugus Plant to Add 1.85 Lakh MTPA 

At Ghugus, Lloyds Metals will increase DRI capacity from 6.30 lakh MTPA to 8.15 lakh MTPA. The addition of 1.85 lakh MTPA will require an investment of ₹140 crore.  

The company plans to complete the work within one year and will use internal accruals to fund it.  

Konsari Capacity to Rise To 92,400 MTPA 

The Konsari plant currently has 70,000 MTPA of DRI capacity. Lloyds Metals will add another 22,400 MTPA, taking it to 92,400 MTPA with an investment of ₹50 crore.  

The company plans to fund this expansion through internal accruals as well, with the work scheduled within one year. 

Expansion To Improve Plant Utilisation 

Lloyds Metals said the capacity increase will come through debottlenecking and optimisation of existing processes and technology.  

The company expects the work to improve utilisation of its kiln facilities and make better use of available iron ore reserves.  

ESOP Shares Also Allotted 

The Board also approved 1,41,969 equity shares under the Lloyds Metals Employee Stock Option Plan 2017 at an exercise price of ₹4 per share.

Lloyds Metals Share Price Performance  

As of 22 September 2026, at 1:32 PM, Lloyds Metals and Energy Ltd share price is trading at ₹1,862.90 per share, reflecting a surge of 2.10% from the previous trading session. 

Conclusion 

The Board decisions bring a ₹1,550 crore NCD plan alongside a ₹190 crore DRI expansion at Ghugus and Konsari. The two plants together will add 2,07,400 MTPA of capacity, taking total DRI capacity above 9 lakh MTPA.
