Lemon Tree Hotels Share Price Surges Over 3% as it Opens 65-Room Keys Prima Hotel in Darjeeling

Lemon Tree Hotels has opened Keys Prima by Lemon Tree Hotels in Darjeeling, marking its first property in the hill town. As per the exchange filing, the 65-room hotel is located on Old Kutchery Road and is being managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels.  

The opening also takes the company's operational presence in West Bengal to three properties. Three more hotels are currently on the pipeline in the state.  

Hotel Has 65 Rooms and Suites 

The property has Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Studio Suites and Executive Suites. Guests can choose rooms overlooking the valley, city, forest and gardens. 

The hotel also has Keys Café, Unlock Bar, in-room dining and a fitness centre.  

Outdoor Space for Events 

An outdoor lawn at the property can accommodate up to 100 guests. It is intended for smaller social gatherings, private celebrations and outdoor events.  

The hotel is positioned close to several of Darjeeling's tourist attractions, including Tiger Hill, Darjeeling Zoo, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Batasia Loop and the Darjeeling Ropeway.  

Management Sees Fit with Darjeeling 

Vishvapreet Singh Cheema, President of Lemon Tree Hotels, said Darjeeling continues to attract families as well as travellers looking for shorter, experience-focused trips. 

He pointed to the town's tea estates, food and character, and said these factors make Darjeeling a natural fit for the Keys Prima brand.  

Hotel Close to Key Transport Points 

The property is around 70 km from Bagdogra Airport, while Darjeeling Railway Station is about 2.5 km away. The local bus station is approximately 1.7 km from the hotel.

As of 01 October 2026, at 1:07 PM, Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd share price is trading at ₹108.10 per share, reflecting a surge of 3.69% from the previous trading session. 

Conclusion 

The new Darjeeling hotel adds 65 rooms to Lemon Tree Hotels' West Bengal portfolio and marks the group's entry into the hill town. With three more properties in the state pipeline, the company is also continuing its expansion across West Bengal.
