
JSW Energy Limited has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% equity shares of Maruti Clean Coal & Power Limited (MCCPL), which owns and operates a 300 MW thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and completion of customary conditions under the agreement.
The company has entered into an agreement with Kolahai Infotech Private Limited and SFI Parcel Services Private Limited to acquire MCCPL.
Upon completion of the transaction, MCCPL will become a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy.
According to the company's disclosure, the transaction values MCCPL at an enterprise value of approximately ₹1,410 crore, subject to customary closing adjustments.
The acquisition will be completed through a cash consideration structure.
MCCPL owns and operates a 300 MW thermal power plant located in Korba, Chhattisgarh. The company reported unaudited revenue from operations of ₹787 crore during FY26.
JSW Energy stated that the acquisition aligns with its objective of reaching 30 GW generation capacity by 2030.
The addition of the operating thermal asset is expected to strengthen the company's thermal power portfolio and support its long-term expansion strategy.
The acquired plant has a long-term power purchase agreement for 195 MW with Rajasthan discoms through PTC India, with a residual life of around 14 years.
Coal requirements for the plant are supported through a long-term fuel supply agreement with SECL and linkage under the SHAKTI scheme.
As of 15 June 2026, at 11:40 AM, JSW Energy share price was trading at ₹566.55 per share, reflecting a surge of 1.38% from the previous close.
The acquisition of Maruti Clean Coal & Power Limited will add a 300 MW thermal power asset to JSW Energy's portfolio. The ₹1,410 crore transaction supports the company's capacity expansion plans and is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
