Jindal Stainless has signed a Technical Assistance Agreement with Japan’s JFE Steel Corporation for selected ferritic stainless steel grades, as per an exchange filing dated September 7, 2026.  

The agreement will provide technical support to improve product quality, manufacturing practices and process efficiency. 

Technical Support for Ferritic Grades 

Under the agreement, JFE Steel will support Jindal Stainless in its work on the grades covered by the arrangement. The Japanese steelmaker has decades of experience in ferritic stainless steel manufacturing, according to the company. 

Ferritic stainless steel is used in automotive components, railway coaches, kitchen equipment, industrial machinery and construction. Demand for stainless steel is also rising in automotive, infrastructure, railways, process industries and other value-added applications. 

Stainless Steel Market 

The company said the global stainless steel market, including the ferritic stainless steel segment, is expected to see steady growth over the coming decade. It said demand for cost-efficient and sustainable materials is supporting the segment. 

Stainless steel is used across these applications for its corrosion resistance, durability and lower lifecycle costs. Ferritic stainless steel is one of the grades used across industrial and consumer applications. 

Jindal Stainless’ Scale 

Jindal Stainless reported an annual turnover of ₹42,955 crore, or $4.86 billion, in FY26. Its annual melt capacity stood at 4.2 million tonnes. 

As of March 2026, the company had 16 stainless steel manufacturing and processing facilities in India and overseas, including Spain and Indonesia. Its operations covered 12 countries, with 10 sales offices and six service centres in India. 

Manufacturing 

Jindal Stainless manufactures stainless steel using electric arc furnaces. The company said this process reduces greenhouse gas emissions and allows scrap to be recycled without compromising quality.

Jindal Stainless Share Price Performance  

As of September 7, 2026, at 2:48 pm, Jindal Stainless share price was trading at ₹731.90, down 0.81% from the previous closing price.
