IZMO Share Price Jumps 10%; Subsidiary Develops Indigenous 40 GHz RF Package for Defence

IZMO Limited noted that its subsidiary, izmo Microsystems Pvt. Ltd., has developed a 40 GHz RF semiconductor package for defence and secure communication applications, as per an exchange filing dated September 1, 2026.  

The high-frequency Quad Flat No-Lead (QFN) package has been designed, developed and manufactured in India for a customer working on RF modules. 

The company has completed assembly and electrical validation of the package and has started production shipments. It said the manufacturing process is in place to support an increase in production volumes.  

Design Addresses High-Frequency Requirements 

At higher microwave frequencies, conventional moulded and open-cavity QFN packages can affect semiconductor performance because of parasitic effects. IZMO said it developed a different package structure to address these requirements. 

The design uses optimised trace geometry and die positioning, with wire bond lengths of about 0.3 mm. A precision air cavity surrounds the die, helping reduce parasitic effects and allowing the package to operate at frequencies of up to 40 GHz.  

Use Across Defence and Communications 

The package can be used in systems involving radar, electronic warfare, secure communications, aerospace, and satellite communications, along with other advanced wireless applications.  

The development expands izmo Microsystems’ semiconductor packaging work. The Bengaluru-based company operates in advanced IC packaging, System-in-Package and high-reliability electronics, serving sectors including defence, aerospace, telecommunications and industrial electronics.  

Semiconductor Push in India 

The development comes as India works to build domestic semiconductor design and manufacturing capacity. The government has approved Semicon 2.0 with an outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore. 

Advanced packaging is included in the programme, with strengthening the ATMP/OSAT industry forming one of its six pillars. The policy focus includes bringing more specialised semiconductor packaging technologies into India.

As of September 1, 2026, 3:30 pm, IZMO share price closed at ₹916.30, a 10.00% increase from the previous closing price.
