
ITC Ltd has highlighted the long-term growth potential of its packaged goods business, forecasting the addressable market to grow to ₹8 lakh crore (₹8 trillion) by 2035 on the back of changing consumer preferences and market dynamics, as per The PTI news reports.
The company believes premiumisation, rising purchasing power, digital adoption, and the growing influence of younger consumers are creating significant long-term opportunities for its FMCG business.
Sanjiv Puri, Chairman and Managing Director, ITC Ltd, said the Indian FMCG market has significant growth potential, with an addressable market of around ₹8 trillion by 2035.
He added that aspirational Bharat, Gen Z, Gen Alpha, quick commerce and expanding digital access are reshaping product categories, sales channels and customer expectations.
Consumer spending on ITC's FMCG products rose 8.8% to nearly ₹37,000 crore in FY26, according to the company's latest annual report.
During FY26, the FMCG business reported segment revenue of ₹24,209.75 crore, up 10.1% from the previous year. Cigarettes remained the largest contributor, generating ₹37,099.65 crore, or 45.9% of the company's gross revenue of ₹80,867.49 crore.
ITC said it is building a portfolio of future-ready brands supported by an AI-led consumer insight ecosystem that analyses factors including life stage, lifestyle, channel, consumption occasion, shelf-life requirements and health needs.
Its acquisitions, including 24 Mantra Organic, Yoga Bar, Prasuma, Meatigo and Mother Sparsh, are now delivering an annual run rate of ₹1,350 crore.
ITC is expanding its "good for you" portfolio with Yoga Bar protein products, Sunfeast protein shakes and fortified Aashirvaad atta to tackle protein, fibre and micronutrient deficiencies.
The company has committed ₹20,000 crore for medium-term expansion, with eight facilities commissioned and six under development.
Puri said the proposed Century Pulp and Paper acquisition will increase paper and paperboard capacity by over 50% to 1.5 million metric tonnes, strengthening ITC's market leadership.

ITC continues to expand its FMCG portfolio through acquisitions, health-focused products, AI-driven consumer insights and manufacturing investments, as it positions itself to capture the long-term growth opportunities in India's evolving consumer market.
