
India's organised job market recorded a 5% year-on-year increase in white-collar hiring during July 2026, according to Info Edge's latest Naukri JobSpeak Report.
The JobSpeak Index stood at 3,227 in July 2026, compared with 3,074 a year earlier. The report indicates that recruitment activity remained higher than last year, supported by hiring across the technology and non-technology sectors.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning remained the fastest-growing segment, with hiring rising 33% from July 2025.
Insurance recorded 10% annual growth, while real estate reported an 8% increase. Recruitment in IT/software services and healthcare grew 6% each, followed by BPO/ITES and FMCG at 5%.
In comparison, hiring declined in education (-12%), hospitality (-7%) and pharma/biotech (-6%). The report also showed a 5% increase in recruitment across Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
Hiring growth remained broad-based across several cities. Bhubaneswar recorded the highest increase at 24%, followed by Gandhinagar at 23%. Kolkata reported 17% growth, while Hyderabad and Raipur each registered a 16% increase.
Chennai posted an 11% rise and Bengaluru recorded 8% growth. Hyderabad also reported a 22% increase in GCC hiring. Delhi NCR and Mumbai, however, recorded marginal declines of 2% and 1%, respectively.
Recruitment increased across most experience categories. Hiring for professionals with 13-15 years of experience rose 8%, while demand for candidates with 8-12 years of experience increased 7%.
Hiring for professionals with up to three years of experience grew 6%, supported mainly by insurance and FMCG. Recruitment for professionals with more than 16 years of experience rose by 1%, making it the slowest-growing experience bracket during the month.

As of August 3, 2026, 2:40 pm, Info Edge (India) Ltd share price was trading at ₹1,258.80, up 2.65% from the previous closing price.
Info Edge's latest JobSpeak data indicated that hiring remained above last year's level, with technology-related roles continuing to support recruitment. Demand differed across sectors and locations during the month.
