Hindustan Zinc share price (NSE: HINDZINC) fell sharply on March 23, dropping nearly 6% to an intraday low of ₹484.

The fall came as broader markets weakened, with the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 declining over 2% each.

Silver Price Fall Adds Pressure

The decline in silver prices further impacted sentiment.

On MCX, silver futures dropped below the key level of ₹2,00,000 per kg, touching around ₹1,99,643 per kg during intraday trade. This sharp fall weighed on metal stocks, including Hindustan Zinc.

Hindustan Share Price Down Sharply From Recent Highs

The stock has seen a significant correction in recent weeks:

  • Down by 40% from its 52-week high of ₹733 (January 2026)
  • Trading around ₹489.80, still lower by nearly 5% in the afternoon session

Recovery Attempts but Weak Trend Continues

Although the stock recovered slightly from its intraday low, it continued to trade in the red due to weak overall market sentiment and pressure in commodity prices.

Focus on Sustainable Growth Initiatives

Despite the short-term fall, the company continues to focus on long-term growth.

Hindustan Zinc has partnered with Tata Steel to expand the use of EcoZen, a low-carbon zinc product.

EcoZen is produced using renewable energy and has a much lower carbon footprint compared to traditional zinc production, supporting sustainable manufacturing.

Conclusion

Hindustan Zinc share price is under pressure today due to a weak market and falling silver prices.
