The Government of India is set to divest a 3% stake in Hindustan Copper Limited through an Offer for Sale (OFS), as reported on the exchange filings on August 24, 2026.  

The base offer comprises 2,90,10,721 shares, with an additional oversubscription option of 3%, potentially making the total offer 6% of the company's capital. 

Offer Details and Important Dates 

The OFS will open on August 25, 2026, for non-retail investors and on August 26, 2026, for retail investors and employees. Trading will occur from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM.  

The floor price is set at ₹514 per equity share, with no discounts for retail investors or employees. The offer is applicable to companies with a market capitalisation of ₹1,000 crore and above. 

Allocation and Bidding Process 

Allocation will follow a price priority basis at multiple clearing prices at or above the floor price. Non-retail investors can carry forward unallocated bids to the next day. 

A minimum of 10% is reserved for retail investors bidding up to ₹2,00,000. Mutual funds and insurance companies are reserved a minimum of 25% of the offer shares.

Bidding and Settlement Terms 

Non-institutional and retail bidders must deposit a 100% upfront margin in cash or cash equivalents. Institutional investors have the option to place bids without upfront payments.  

Settlement will occur on a trade-for-trade basis on T+2 day, specifically August 27, 2026, due to a clearing holiday on August 26, 2026. Unallocated funds will be released after obligation downloads. 

International Regulatory Restrictions 

This notice is not for release or distribution in the United States unless exemptions apply. Shares are offered inside the US only to qualified institutional buyers under Rule 144A.  

Outside the United States, shares are offered in offshore transactions complying with Regulation S. European Economic Area and United Kingdom investors must qualify as qualified investors under relevant local laws. 

Hindustan Copper Share Price Performance 

As of August 25, 2026, at 10:29 AM, Hindustan Copper share price on NSE was trading at ₹536.70, down by 6.52% from the previous closing price.
