
HFCL Ltd reported a return to profit in the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), after posting a loss in the same period last year.
Consolidated net profit after tax (PAT) came in at ₹245.64 crore, against a loss of ₹29.30 crore a year ago. Revenue from operations rose to ₹1,914.98 crore, up 119.85% from ₹871.02 crore in Q1 FY26.
Operating performance also improved during the quarter. EBITDA increased to ₹445.27 crore from ₹43.18 crore a year earlier, while the EBITDA margin expanded to 23.25% from 4.96%.
Exports accounted for more than half of the company's revenue during the quarter. Overseas sales stood at ₹1,063.3 crore, making up 55.5% of total revenue. In the corresponding quarter last year, exports contributed ₹209.7 crore, or 24.1% of revenue.
The product business contributed 85% of total revenue, compared with 66% a year ago. According to the company, the increase was supported by higher demand for optical connectivity products and a larger share of product sales in the overall business mix.
As of June 30, 2026, HFCL's order book stood at ₹26,665 crore, the highest level reported by the company. The order pipeline is nearly five times the company's FY26 revenue.
The board approved an investment of ₹215 crore to set up a manufacturing facility for AI data centre connectivity products. The proposed facility will have an annual production capacity of 2,70,000 assemblies and will manufacture products including Miniature Multi-Fiber (MMC) and Super High-Density Multi-Fiber Termination (SNMT) assemblies.
The company is also expanding optical fibre capacity from 28 million fibre kilometres to 34 million fibre kilometresand optical fibre cable capacity from 34 million fibre kilometres to 43 million fibre kilometres.
During the quarter, HFCL started the process of setting up an ammunition manufacturing complex in Andhra Pradesh. The proposed facility will manufacture multimode hand grenades, electronic fuzes and other ammunition products.
The company also continued work on surveillance radars, thermal imaging systems and tactical communication equipment under its Defence & Aerospace business.

As of July 22, 2026, 3:30 pm, HFCL share price closed at ₹217.95, down 0.01% from the previous closing price.
HFCL's Q1 FY27 performance was driven by higher exports, increased product revenue and improved operating performance. During the quarter, the company also announced investments in AI connectivity and manufacturing capacity.
