As per Economic Times report, HDFC Bank has announced scheduled maintenance activities in December 2025, which will result in the temporary unavailability of UPI services linked to its accounts.
This downtime will affect both individuals and merchants who rely on HDFC Bank for UPI transactions.
The maintenance is set for December 13 and December 21, 2025, from 2:30 AM to 6:30 AM IST, each lasting 4 hours.
During these periods, several services will be impacted, including UPI transactions using HDFC Bank savings and current accounts, payments via HDFC Bank-issued RuPay credit cards on UPI, UPI access through the HDFC Bank MobileBanking app, UPI services via third-party apps where HDFC Bank is the payment service provider, and merchant transactions involving HDFC Bank-linked UPI settlements.
To minimise inconvenience, HDFC Bank suggests using its PayZapp wallet during the maintenance hours. PayZapp will remain operational and can be utilised for payments and fund transfers. Users can download the app from Google Play Store or App Store, register using their mobile number and OTP, and complete KYC using bank-based or PAN-based methods.
KYC-based transaction limits on PayZapp are as follows: PAN-based KYC allows a ₹10,000 limit per transaction and per month, with an annual limit of ₹1,20,000. Bank-based KYC permits a ₹2,00,000 limit per transaction and per month, with a yearly spend limit of ₹10,00,000. Spending limits can be customised within the app, and cashpoints earned can be redeemed into the wallet from the ‘Cashpoints & Offers’ section.

Customers are advised to plan high-value or time-sensitive UPI payments outside the maintenance windows to avoid disruptions.
Non-HDFC Bank UPI users and other digital payment methods will not be affected. PayZapp users can still spend from linked debit or credit cards within the authorised limits of their respective banks.
As of December 12, 2025, at 2:09 PM, HDFC Bank share price on NSE was trading at ₹1,001.20 up by 0.09% from the previous closing price.
HDFC Bank's planned maintenance on December 13 and 21, 2025, will affect UPI-based transactions during early morning hours. Customers should use the PayZapp wallet as an alternative payment method to ensure uninterrupted transactions during this period.
