HCC Share Price in Focus; Secures ₹524.17 Crore NHPC Contract in Jammu & Kashmir

Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. (HCC) has secured a ₹524.17 crore contract from NHPC Ltd. for works at the Salal Power Station in Jammu & Kashmir, strengthening its presence in the country's hydropower infrastructure sector, as per the exchange filings.   

HCC Secures Contract from NHPC 

The contract involves civil and hydro-mechanical works, along with associated ancillary and enabling works, required to make the undersluices of the concrete dam at the Salal Power Station fully functional and operational. The project has a 27-month execution period.  

Focus on Salal Power Station Rehabilitation 

The Salal Power Station is one of NHPC's key hydroelectric assets. According to HCC, rehabilitation of the dam's undersluices is expected to improve the station's operational efficiency and sediment management, while strengthening its long-term safety and reliability.  

Strengthens HCC's J&K Hydropower Presence 

The latest contract builds on HCC's long-standing presence in Jammu & Kashmir. The company previously constructed the 690 MW Salal Hydroelectric Project, which was commissioned in 1987.  

HCC has also executed four other hydropower projects in the region: Uri-II (240 MW), Kishanganga (333 MW), Nimoo Bazgo (45 MW) and Chutak (44 MW).  

Together, these projects represent 1,352 MW of installed capacity, equivalent to approximately 38% of Jammu & Kashmir's total installed hydropower capacity, according to the company.

As of August 11, 2026, at 3:22 PM, Hindustan Construction Company share price closed at ₹942.05 per share, reflecting a decline of 1.14% from the previous closing price.
