
HBL Engineering Ltd said it has received a Letter of Acceptance from Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi, for an order worth ₹800.36 crore, including 18% GST. The contract relates to the supply, testing and commissioning of on-board KAVACH equipment, version 4.0.
BLW is a locomotive manufacturing unit of Indian Railways. The order has been awarded by a domestic entity as per the filing.
The company said the contract involves supplying the KAVACH equipment and carrying out installation, testing and commissioning on locomotives. The total contract value stands at ₹800.36 crore, inclusive of taxes.
According to the disclosure, the transaction is not a related-party deal. The company also stated that none of its promoters or group companies have any interest in the awarding entity.
The project is scheduled to be completed within 12 months. The work will cover the full cycle of supply, installation and commissioning of the equipment covered under the order.
KAVACH is an indigenous automatic train protection system used by Indian Railways. It is designed to reduce the risk of collisions by automatically applying brakes under certain conditions.

As of February 11, 2026, 11:59 am, HBL Engineering Ltd share price was trading at ₹795.25, a 1.95% increase from the previous closing price.
The domestic contract from BLW is valued at ₹800.36 crore, including GST. Execution is scheduled within a year and covers supply, testing and commissioning of KAVACH systems.
