The company has appointed Varun Berry as an Additional Director in the capacity of an Independent Director. The appointment has come into effect from April 22, 2026.
Berry most recently served at Britannia Industries, where he held multiple leadership roles including Chief Executive Officer, Vice Chairman and Managing Director.
He joined Britannia on January 8, 2013, and stepped down from his executive responsibilities in November 2025.
Professional Background, Education and Expertise
Varun Berry has built a long-standing career across leading multinational companies, with extensive leadership experience in both Indian and international markets. Before joining Britannia, he held several senior roles at PepsiCo.
He served as Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo Foods India from 2010 to 2013 and earlier led the company’s International Dairy and Juice business as CEO.
His global exposure also includes roles as Chief Operating Officer in Vietnam and Country Manager in the Philippines. Between 1993 and 2000, he worked with PepsiCo India as Market Unit General Manager.
He began his career at Unilever in India, where he worked as Marketing Manager at Brooke Bond India Ltd. from 1986 to 1992. In terms of education, Berry completed a Strategic Management programme from The Wharton School in 2003 and attended the Global Leadership Program at IMD in 2008.
With nearly 4 decades of experience, his expertise spans managing start-ups, leading business turnarounds, handling joint ventures, and scaling growth-focused organisations across diverse markets.
