HAL Share Price in Focus; Signs Long-Term Safran Deal for CFM LEAP Engine Programme

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has entered into a long-term agreement with Safran Aircraft Engines to manufacture critical components for the CFM LEAP engine programme, as per news reports.
The agreement expands the companies' long-standing partnership and strengthens HAL's participation in the global civil aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.
Agreement Signed at Farnborough
The agreement was signed during the Farnborough International Airshow.
It was signed by Praveen B, General Manager, Foundry and Forge Division, HAL, and Dominique Dupuy, Senior Vice President, Purchasing, Safran Aircraft Engines, in the presence of Ravi K, Chairman and Managing Director, HAL, and Jayakrishnan S, CEO (Bengaluru Complex), HAL.
Manufacturing at Bengaluru Facility
As part of the agreement, HAL will manufacture near-net shape turbine ring forgings at its ring rolling facility in Bengaluru.
These components will be supplied for the CFM LEAP engine programme, one of the world's leading commercial aircraft engine programmes.
Components Critical for Aero Engines
The contract covers the production of superalloy turbine ring forgings.
These components are used in the high-temperature rotating section of aero engines and are essential for ensuring engine performance and long-term reliability.

HAL Highlights Strategic Importance
Ravi K, Chairman and Managing Director, HAL, said the agreement reflects global aerospace OEMs' confidence in HAL's manufacturing capabilities.
He added that participation in the LEAP engine programme strengthens HAL's presence in the global civil aerospace market while supporting advanced aero-engine manufacturing in India.
Safran Sees Stronger Local Supply Chain
Dominique Dupuy, Senior Vice President, Purchasing, Safran Aircraft Engines, said the company is enthusiastic about continuing its partnership with HAL.
He added that the collaboration supports Safran's strategy of building a more locally integrated supply chain as production of LEAP engines is increased to meet growing global demand.
