HAL Share Price in Focus; Hands Over Final Tejas Trainers and Dhruv Next Generation Helicopters

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has delivered the last two FOC twin-seat trainers to fulfill its original 40-aircraft order for LCA Tejas Mk-1 demand from the Indian Air Force.
The company also delivered HTT-40 Basic Trainer Aircraft to IAF while Dhruv Next Generation helicopters were handed over in Bengaluru by Pawan Hans.
Tejas Mk-1 Order Completed
The final two twin-seat trainers bring the original 40-aircraft Tejas Mk-1 order to completion. The IAF had placed the order in two tranches in March 2006 and December 2010.
HAL now has the larger Mk-1A programme ahead of it, covering 180 aircraft ordered by the IAF.
Mk-1A Deliveries Still Being Worked On
According to the Hindustan Times news report, HAL Chairman and Managing Director Ravi K Kumar expects Mk-1A deliveries to the IAF to begin by the end of 2026.
Kumar told ANI that software modifications are underway during testing. Radar, weapons and software integration work are among the areas being addressed, although he did not commit to a specific delivery timeline.
27 Mk-1A Airframes Made
According to the Times of India news report, HAL has made 27 Tejas Mk-1A airframes out of the 180 ordered. Further testing is required for AESA radar and missile integration.
The order consists of 83 aircraft worth around ₹48,000 crore, placed in February 2021, and another 97 aircraft worth ₹62,370 crore, ordered in September 2025.
HTT-40 Deliveries Continue
The HTT-40 handover forms part of the ₹6,838 crore contract signed in March 2023 for 70 aircraft.
Alongside the trainer aircraft, HAL’s latest handovers also included Dhruv Next Generation helicopters for Pawan Hans in Bengaluru.

As of 18 September 2026, at 3:11 PM, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited share price was trading at ₹4,868.50 per share, reflecting a surge of 1.68% from the previous trading session.
