Force Motors Partners with Rosmerta for Vehicle Scrappage in Delhi-NCR

Force Motors Limited has partnered with Rosmerta Auto Recycling Pvt. Ltd. to scrap eligible end-of-life vehicles through an authorised facility in Delhi-NCR.
The companies announced the partnership October 22, 2026, as per a CNBC TV18 report. Force Motors will also examine similar arrangements in other parts of India after starting with the Delhi-NCR region.
Process at Registered Facility
Under the arrangement, eligible Force Motors customers can take their vehicles to Rosmerta’s Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF).
The government-registered facility will handle eligible end-of-life commercial vehicles and assist owners with the required vehicle and ownership documents.
The process includes depollution, dismantling, and separation of materials for recycling. Customers will receive the relevant documents at different stages, including a Certificate of Deposit (CoD), wherever applicable.
Registration Fee Waiver
Under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, buyers of new vehicles who submit a CoD for an end-of-life vehicle are eligible for a waiver of the registration fee on the new vehicle. The provision forms part of the rules governing the disposal of older vehicles.
The framework for registered vehicle scrapping facilities was introduced through rules notified by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in September 2021. The formal process also provides documentation of vehicle disposal.
Steel Recycling Requirements
The Environment Protection (End-of-Life Vehicles) Rules, 2025 came into effect in April 2025. From FY26, vehicle producers are required to meet steel-scrap targets based on their historical domestic sales by purchasing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) certificates from registered scrapping facilities.
The Central Pollution Control Board issues these certificates to RVSFs. The Force Motors-Rosmerta arrangement includes the generation and transfer of EPR credits, wherever applicable, to support compliance with relevant requirements.
Recovery of Automotive Materials
The scrapping process allows steel, aluminium and other recoverable materials to be separated for recycling and further use in manufacturing. The companies also intend to encourage vehicle owners to use authorised facilities rather than informal disposal channels.
For commercial vehicle owners, the arrangement provides a documented process for retiring ageing vehicles. Force Motors has said it will explore similar partnerships in other regions, although no further locations have been specified.
