The bank also reversed a net loss of ₹81.22 crore from the June 2025 quarter.

For the financial year 2026, ESAF Small Finance Bank reported a total income of ₹4,348.23 crore. Despite the positive quarterly results, the bank recorded a net loss of ₹166.40 crore for the entire fiscal year.
Core Expenditures and Financial Provisioning Impacts
Total bank expenditure for the quarter concluded at ₹997.03 crore, reflecting an increase from ₹898.45 crore in Q1 FY26.
Interest expended on deposits and borrowings constituted ₹513.69 crore, while total operating expenses reached ₹483.34 crore.
Employee benefit costs within the operating matrix required a financial outgo of ₹179.79 crore. The lender allocated ₹241.96 crore toward provisions and contingencies, down slightly from ₹234.12 crore in the comparative previous year period.
After factoring in a quarterly tax expense of ₹26.94 crore, the net profit settled at ₹80.08 crore, reversing a previous net loss of ₹81.22 crore.
Segment Revenue Performance and Distribution Channels
The retail banking division functioned as the largest revenue channel, contributing ₹1,141.36 crore to the overall revenue pool. Treasury operations added ₹154.30 crore, while the wholesale banking division brought in ₹22.21 crore.
Other minor bank operational branches collectively pulled in ₹28.14 crore. In terms of segment-wise profitability, the treasury group yielded the highest results before unallocated adjustments at ₹50.51 crore.
Retail banking operations achieved a positive turnaround result of ₹29.90 crore, contrasting sharply with a segment loss of ₹181.00 crore in the identical baseline quarter last fiscal year.
Analytical Asset Quality Ratios and Capital Issuance
Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) stood at ₹1,253.34 crore, and net NPAs dropped down to ₹184.12 crore. The gross NPA percentage to gross advances was recorded at 5.40%, showing improvement against 7.48% in Q1 FY26.
The net NPA ratio contracted down to 0.83% from a higher marker of 3.77% in the previous year. The bank's Basel II capital adequacy ratio reached a healthy 23.86%, up from 22.74% year-on-year.
Bolstering its capital base during the quarter, the bank raised ₹85.00 crore via private placement of Basel II compliant lower Tier II subordinated non-convertible debentures.
