Cochin Shipyard Share Price in Focus as Q1 FY27 Net Profit Falls 19% to ₹151.5 Crore

Cochin Shipyard profit after tax fell to ₹151.45 crore for the quarter ended on June 30, 2026. The topline on the other hand, increased to ₹1,094.21 crore from ₹1,068.59 crore in Q1 FY26.
Revenue Of Shipbuilding Rises but Ship Repair Revenue Falls
Shipbuilding revenue went up to ₹700.04 crore from ₹438.97 crore in the same quarter last year. Ship repair revenue fell to ₹394.17 crore from ₹629.62 crore.
Shipbuilding PBIT also increased to ₹63.89 crore from ₹36.41 crore. On the other hand, PBIT from ship repair fell to ₹135.02 crore from ₹278.24 crore.
Two Passenger Vessel Projects Remain Under Discussion
The results also contain an update on two 1,200-passenger vessels being built for the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. Their extended contractual delivery dates had already expired, and construction activity has been affected by discussions over their possible reallocation.
As of June 30, 2026, the vessels were 54.84% and 55.19% complete, respectively. The company said it is discussing modifications with the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and the Lakshadweep Administration.

Share Price Performance
As of August 17, 2026, at 1:22 PM, the share price of Cochin Shipyard was trading at ₹1,470 per share, reflecting a decline of 1.67% from the previous closing price.

The Q1 results of Cochin Shipyard have seen rise in profit, but profit was lower than a year ago. Shipbuilding performed better during the quarter, while the sharp fall in ship repair revenue and PBIT weighed on the overall numbers.
