Swiggy's quick-commerce platform Instamart has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to introduce on-demand LPG cylinder delivery in Bengaluru. The initiative marks the first time an LPG cylinder delivery service has been made available through a quick-commerce platform in India.
The partnership also marks the launch of HP Navya, HPCL's newly introduced 10 kg composite LPG cylinder, on Instamart. Along with HP Navya, customers can also order the 5 kg metal LPG cylinder, expanding access to LPG through a digital platform.
Consumers in Bengaluru can open the Instamart app, select either the 10 kg HP Navya composite LPG cylinder or the 5 kg metal LPG cylinder, add it to their cart, and place an order.
For first-time buyers, the order will be treated as a new cylinder purchase. Subsequent orders will be processed as refills, with customers required to return their empty HPCL cylinder to the delivery partner at the time of delivery. This exchange model follows standard LPG distribution practices while making the refill process more convenient.
The company is focused on making LPG more accessible through digital channels in line with changing consumer preferences. By leveraging Swiggy Instamart's quick-commerce network, HPCL aims to offer faster and more convenient access to HP Gas cylinders while maintaining the safety and reliability associated with its brand.
The partnership highlights how quick-commerce platforms are broadening their offerings beyond groceries and daily essentials. With increasing consumer demand for faster doorstep delivery, products such as LPG cylinders are becoming part of the growing quick-commerce ecosystem.
For HPCL, the collaboration opens a new digital distribution channel, while Swiggy Instamart strengthens its presence in the home essentials segment.
The Swiggy Instamart-HPCL partnership marks a significant step in the evolution of quick commerce in India by bringing on-demand LPG cylinder delivery to consumers. If the Bengaluru rollout proves successful, the service could be expanded to more cities, making LPG refills faster and more accessible.
