Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has filed a commercial suit against Raichur Power Corporation Ltd in the Bengaluru Commercial Court, seeking recovery of dues linked to a power project. The disclosure was made on 17 April 2026 under SEBI’s listing regulations.  

Claim Amount 

The company has claimed ₹143.21 crore, or roughly ₹1.43 billion, in the case. The amount relates to payments BHEL says are pending under a contract executed with Raichur Power Corporation Ltd.  

Contract and Project Details 

The dispute arises from a contract for the supply of equipment and services for 2 - 800 MW units at the Yeramaras Thermal Power Station. The scope of work also covers related and associated project activities.  

Yeramaras is a coal-based thermal project in Karnataka, developed to add large-scale generation capacity. BHEL was involved as a contractor responsible for key supply and execution of components of the plant. 

Parties Named in the Case 

In the filing, BHEL is listed as the plaintiff, while Raichur Power Corporation Ltd has been named as the defendant. The company stated that the claim concerns amounts due under the terms of the contract between the 2 parties.
