Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been awarded a significant contract by NTPC Limited for the Telangana Stage-II Supercritical Thermal Power Project. This contract involves the main plant package for a 3x800 MW facility. 

Details of the NTPC Contract Awarded to BHEL 

On March 29, 2026, BHEL received a Notification of Award (NOA) from NTPC Limited for the main plant package of the 3x800 MW Telangana Stage-II Supercritical Thermal Power Project located in Peddapalli, Telangana.  

BHEL emerged as the successful bidder for this project in October 2024, following an international competitive bidding process. 

The contract encompasses the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, commissioning, and testing of the main plant package, including civil and structural works.  

The project is valued at over ₹13,500 crore, excluding GST. 

Execution Timeline and Project Scope 

The completion of facilities for the main plant package is expected within 62 months from the date of the NOA.  

This extensive project will see BHEL handling critical components such as the boiler, turbine, and generator, ensuring the successful execution of the power plant's core infrastructure.

Significance of the BHEL-NTPC Collaboration
