Bharti Airtel Share Price in Focus; Incorporates a Wholly Owned Subsidiary Airtel Global IFSC Limited in GIFT City

Bharti Airtel has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary, Airtel Global IFSC Limited, in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), Gujarat.  

According to the company's regulatory filing, the entity was incorporated on 15 June 2026 after receiving a Certificate of Incorporation from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. 

Subsidiary to Function as Global Corporate Treasury Centre 

The new company has been incorporated as a finance company to undertake the activities of a Global Corporate Treasury Centre.  

It will also be allowed to carry out other activities permitted under the regulations issued by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), the filing said. 

Wholly-Owned Entity Incorporated with ₹2 Crore Capital 

Airtel Global IFSC Limited has been incorporated with an authorised share capital of ₹2 crore and a paid-up and subscribed share capital of ₹2 crore.  

The initial subscription has been made entirely in cash by Bharti Airtel. As a result, the telecom company will hold 100% of the shareholding in the newly formed subsidiary. 

No Operating History or Turnover 

The company noted that the subsidiary has no turnover or operating history as it has been newly incorporated.  

The filing also stated that the incorporation does not involve a related-party transaction since the entity has been established as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bharti Airtel. 

Regulatory Filing Outlines Incorporation Details 

The disclosure noted that no additional governmental or regulatory approvals were required for the incorporation.  

It also stated that details relating to acquisition timelines were not applicable, as the company has been newly formed rather than acquired from an existing shareholder.

Bharti Airtel Share Price Performance  

On June 16, 2026, 12:17 pm, Bharti Airtel share price was trading at ₹1,838.80, down 0.13%, from its previous closing price.

With the incorporation of Airtel Global IFSC Limited, Bharti Airtel has added a finance subsidiary based in GIFT City that will undertake treasury-related activities under the IFSCA framework. The company will retain full ownership through its 100% shareholding in the new entity.
