Berger Paints India Ltd reported a strong performance for the quarter ended June 2026 (Q1 FY27), driven by healthy demand in its decorative paints and automotive coatings businesses. The company posted double-digit growth in both revenue and profit despite higher raw material costs, while maintaining stable operating margins through disciplined cost management. Following the earnings announcement, Berger Paints shares gained over 3% in intraday trade as investors welcomed the company's resilient financial performance and positive demand outlook.

Highlights of Berger Paints Q1 FY27 Results

Berger Paints reported a consolidated net profit of ₹404.3 crore, up 21% year-on-year (YoY). Revenue from operations increased 12% YoY to ₹3,583.7 crore, reflecting broad-based growth across its key business segments.

The company's EBITDA rose 15% YoY to ₹607.4 crore, while the EBITDA margin remained steady at 17%, despite inflationary pressure on crude-linked raw materials.

Managing Director and CEO Abhijit Roy said demand recovery continued during the June quarter, with standalone value growth of 12.7%. He added that price hikes implemented during the quarter supported performance and are expected to deliver a fuller benefit in the coming months.

Decorative Paints and Auto Coatings Lead Growth

Berger Paints said decorative paints and automotive coatings remained its primary growth drivers during the quarter. Businesses such as waterproofing solutions, construction chemicals and wood coatings also recorded healthy growth.

The company attributed part of its performance to strong demand for premium product launches and continued expansion of its dealer network in underpenetrated urban markets.

Conclusion

While geopolitical tensions in West Asia increased crude prices and raised the cost of petroleum-based raw materials, Berger Paints said operational efficiencies and tighter cost controls helped protect profitability.

Looking ahead, the company expects improving domestic demand, a favourable monsoon and the impact of recent price increases in industrial coatings to support growth in the coming quarters. However, it continues to monitor risks from foreign exchange volatility, geopolitical uncertainty and raw material inflation.
