
Bajel Projects Limited has announced a major contract win from the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL). The ₹700 crore order involves establishing a 400/220 kV substation at Saswad, Pune, along with associated transmission lines.
The contract awarded by MSETCL is a substantial one, classified as an ultra-mega order by Bajel Projects. It involves the complete turnkey EPC execution of a 400/220 kV Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) substation at Saswad, Pune. The project includes design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the substation and its associated transmission lines.
This project is the largest single order Bajel Projects has secured in the power transmission sector. The substation will feature a greenfield 2×500 MVA, 400/220 kV AIS substation, complete with a 1×125 MVAr Bus Reactor at the 400 kV level.
The Saswad substation is strategically located in Pune district and will serve as a crucial node in Maharashtra's high-voltage transmission network. It aims to enhance power evacuation capacity for the rapidly industrialising Pune region and strengthen grid reliability across the state.
The project is expected to be completed within 23 months from the issuance of the Notification of Award. Bajel Projects is committed to delivering the project with high standards of quality and safety, reinforcing its reputation in the EPC sector.
