
Bajaj Electricals Limited has announced the acquisition of the Morphy Richards brand rights in India and select South Asian markets for ₹141.4 crores. This strategic move allows Bajaj Electricals to fully own and manage the Morphy Richards portfolio in key regions.
On March 16, 2026, Bajaj Electricals signed a definitive agreement to acquire the intellectual property and brand rights of Morphy Richards in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
The acquisition, valued at ₹141.4 crores, marks a significant step in Bajaj Electricals' long-standing relationship with Morphy Richards, which began in 2002 under licensing arrangements.
The agreement involves the absolute, perpetual, and irrevocable sale and assignment of the Morphy Richards brand, including trademarks, domain names, and social media accounts, along with all associated goodwill.
This acquisition is expected to enhance Bajaj Electricals' multi-brand strategy, allowing for deeper investments in innovation and market execution.
The total consideration for the acquisition is ₹141.4 crores, payable in GBP Sterling in three instalments.
The first instalment of ₹49 crores was due on the transfer date, with subsequent payments scheduled for March 31, 2027, and March 31, 2028. The total cash outflow, inclusive of GST and other taxes, amounts to ₹197.47 crores.

As part of the acquisition, the existing Trade Mark Licence Agreement between Bajaj Electricals and Glen Electric Limited, dated March 17, 2022, was terminated by mutual consent.
This termination allows Bajaj Electricals to assume full control of the Morphy Richards brand in the specified territories.
As of March 17, 2026, at 9:34 AM, Bajaj Electricals share price on NSE was trading at ₹381.50 up by 5.18% from the previous closing price.
