Aurobindo Pharma’s step-down subsidiary Acrotech Biopharma has launched ADQUEY (difamilast 1%) ointment in the US, according to a company press release dated September 30, 2026.
The product is for mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis in adults and children aged two years and above.
Product Details
ADQUEY is a non-steroidal topical phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor. It contains 1% difamilast and is indicated for topical treatment of mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis. Difamilast was originally discovered and developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
Acrotech has a licence from Otsuka to commercialise the medicine in the United States. The company’s latest announcement covers both the product launch and the formation of a separate dermatology business within Acrotech.
Dedicated Dermatology Division
The new dermatology business will have functions covering marketing, sales, and field-based engagement. According to Acrotech, its work will include building awareness of ADQUEY, engaging with dermatology healthcare professionals and supporting patients during treatment.
The division is also to develop the infrastructure and expertise required for Acrotech’s activities in specialty dermatology.
US Dermatology Market
ADQUEY is entering a market estimated at around US$1.3 billion for the 12 months ended July 2026, based on IQVIA MAT data. The figure refers to the market in which the product will compete.
Aurobindo Pharma’s Business
Acrotech Biopharma is a step-down subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma and was formed to commercialise proprietary medicines. Aurobindo Pharma is headquartered in Hyderabad and develops, manufactures and commercialises generic pharmaceuticals, branded specialty pharmaceuticals and active pharmaceutical ingredients.
The company has 31 manufacturing and packaging facilities and sells its products in more than 150 countries, according to the release. Its portfolio covers seven major therapeutic and product areas.
