Augmont Enterprises Share Price Up 10%; Partners with NSE to Expand Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Market

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has empanelled Augmont Enterprises Limited and its subsidiaries as a key partner for promoting Electronic Gold Receipts (EGRs).
The announcement was made on September 26, 2026, as part of plans to develop the EGR market.
Augmont to Support EGR Process
Under the arrangement, Augmont will provide technical and on-ground support for EGRs. This includes work around the creation and extinguishment of receipts, covering the conversion of physical gold into EGRs and the conversion of EGRs back into physical gold.
How Electronic Gold Receipts Work?
EGRs are dematerialised securities that represent ownership of physical gold. The underlying gold is kept in SEBI-accredited vaults, while the receipts are held electronically through depositories.
Each EGR is backed by physical gold and can be traded on the exchange.
Focus on Gold Market Participants
The NSE noted that the partnership is intended to support trading in EGRs and improve participation across the gold market.
The participants covered include jewellers, refiners, traders, and institutional investors. The arrangement combines NSE's exchange infrastructure with Augmont's operations across the gold value chain.
Augmont operates in refining, bullion trading, digital gold, consumer products and technology-enabled platforms.
Electronic Holding of Gold
The release also states that EGRs can be held in smaller denominations, with electronic ownership and the option of conversion between physical and digital formats. This gives the receipts a structure similar to other financial instruments held in demat form.
Augmont Enterprises Share Price Performance
As of September 28, 2026, 12:30 pm, Augmont Enterprises share price was trading at ₹965.65, a 10.00% increase from the previous closing price.
Conclusion
The partnership covers the creation, trading, and conversion of Electronic Gold Receipts. NSE and Augmont will support the development of the EGR market within the regulated gold ecosystem.
